1.HOW MANY COWS CAN I EXPECT TO FEED WITH MY MIXER? Each machine will be different based on the farm and farmer. As a rule of thumb a dairy cow eats an average of .08 – .12 cu meters of feed per day. A farmer with a 6 cu m machine could be feeding a herd of 40- 80 cows, once a day. However, another farmer with the same machine could be feeding multiple times a day to a much larger herd of 120 - 240 animals.Therefore the number of cows a specific machine can feed to will be dependant on the farmers preferences, the hours spent feeding per day, and the total herd size. 2.WHAT GENERAL MAINTENANCE HAS TO BE DONE ON THIS MACHINE? LEO machines are designed for rugged performance with very little maintenance. Regular maintenance consists of greasing moving components such as PTO joints, bearings. Periodically checking oil level and condition in chains/sprockets, inspecting knives and other wear items and replace as necessary. 3.HOW LONG DO THE KNIVES LAST? Knives are a wear item. They are manufactured with a tungsten carbide coating for durability and wear resistance. However, because of varying farm operations and processes, it is difficult to estimate an accurate life expectancy for knives under so many operating conditions. Foreign matter such as rocks and excessive amounts of sand will inherently affect the life of the knives. High hourly use per day is also a factor. 4.HOW MUCH WILL THIS MIXER INCREASE MY MILK PRODUCTION? While we cannot guarantee increased milk production numbers, we have confidence that our machines will increase your production.Our machines have been university tested and proven under proper test conditions. We highly recommend consultation with a reputable feed nutritionist in combination with our machines TMR process for best results under your conditions.
